THE SETTING

There is a particular kind of magic reserved for a cloudless Friday in April in the heart of Cheshire. At Merrydale Manor, the morning air felt as though it had been distilled into pure, soft light. Outside, the gentle life of the estate unfolded, white lambs jumping through the new grass in the surrounding fields, a quiet reminder of the seasons that root our work. Inside the Manor, a different kind of nature was taking root. We were busy crafting a vision that sat where wild beauty meets careful design, creating something that felt both alive and deeply considered.

The Vision: Beyond the Template

For Gee and Vish, this was a celebration of two worlds coming together. A seamless fusion of her British roots and his Indian heritage. Their journey, which began with a cinematic shoot at London’s National Gallery, called for flowers that spoke a more thoughtful, global language, that was bold, architectural, and refreshingly unconstrained.

"I knew she wasn't someone who worked from a template, but someone who would listen and create something entirely unique to each couple's story. Everything about her felt high class. Her approach goes beyond aesthetics; she considers the full sensory experience, from sourcing stems to the interplay of scent, texture, and movement, elevating both the guest and couple experience."

THE SILHOUETTE

In a world that often asks for "more," we chose the power of the singular. Moving away from the soft, rounded shapes of the past, the floral direction for the day was bold and architectural. We treated the sun-filled spaces of the Manor like a gallery, placing designs that felt more like living art than mere decoration.

The Ceremony Crescent was our definitive statement for the season. A lush, living frame for the couple’s vows, it was a study in monochromatic texture, a sea of crisp whites and deep, verdant greens. We curated a floral palette of Zantedeschia Calla Lilies, their sweeping lines providing a sense of rhythmic grace, their trumpet-like shapes standing tall as if to herald the ceremony. These were paired with the waxy, high-fashion brilliance of Anthurium and the striking, green spires of Moluccella, whose bell-shaped blooms added a structured, botanical elegance.

These architectural elements were anchored by the classic opulence of Avalanche Roses and Hydrangea. To give the design a modern edge, we wove in a foundation of Phoenix Palms and the ethereal, delicate mist of Asparagus Fern. Finally, we featured the unique Dianthus barbatus, a striking bloom prized for its fuzzy, globe-shaped lime flowers. Resembling soft balls of woodland moss, they added an eye-catching, tactile layer that brought the quiet soul of the Cheshire fields right into the heart of the ceremony.

"The flowers were breathtaking. I was completely obsessed. You surpassed every expectation we had."

THE GALLERY AISLE

The ceremony was designed as an immersive exhibition. We placed several of our signature floral designs atop clean, minimalist plinths to line the aisle, creating a walk-through gallery of botanical art. As Gee made her way to the altar, she was flanked by these sculptural moments, each one an intentional study of form and texture.

True luxury is as clever as it is beautiful. Following the vows, these gallery pieces were seamlessly transitioned to the reception room, where they took on a second life as part of the wedding breakfast.

THE WEDDING BREAKFAST: A TRIPTYCH OF DESIGN

A sustainable wedding breakfast centrepiece featuring Calla Lilies and Hydrangea, designed using the plant-based Oshun Pouch for a zero-waste luxury reception.

For the reception, Gee and Vish wanted to challenge the tradition of uniformity. They desired a journey for their guests, an experience where no two tables felt exactly the same. Across the eighteen tables, we created a triptych of three distinct designs, ensuring that as guests moved through the room, they discovered new heights, textures, and forms.

At the heart of this was our commitment to Embedded Sustainability. For the designs that appeared to grow directly from the tables, we utilised the Oshun Pouch, a revolutionary, plant-based, and biodegradable alternative to traditional foam (which contains microplastics). Completely compostable and zero-waste, this innovation allowed us to achieve high-impact, modern aesthetics without compromising our lifelong respect for the land. It was luxury that felt as good as it looked.

THE TRANSFORMATION

To ensure the day’s floral heart remained with the couple, our team also repurposed the Ceremony Crescent, moving it to frame the Sweetheart Top Table. It transformed the reception space into an immersive garden, allowing the architectural silhouette that witnessed their promises to become the backdrop for their first meal as a married couple. It was a thoughtful touch that ensured the beauty flowed as effortlessly as the celebration itself.

"My own bouquet was like a piece of sculptural art — intricate yet fluid, structured yet full of movement. Jacqui incorporated traditional Keralan palm leaf elements as a subtle nod to my partner's heritage, while maintaining the timeless greens and whites of a classic British wedding. It was thoughtful, meaningful, and unforgettable."

THE COUTURE DETAIL

Luxury is found in the quiet, patient details that only reveal themselves when you look closely. For Gee’s couture bouquet, we looked deep into the greenery to honour the Indian art of woven leaves. We carefully wove individual Palm leaves, a hand-crafted tribute to heritage that added a layer of profound personal meaning.

To this woven foundation, we added the delicate elegance of Orchids, nestled alongside the waxy brilliance of Anthurium and the grace of Calla Lilies, finished with the romantic reach of Trailing Amaranthus. It is this slow, thoughtful work that defines the Jacqui O signature: a promise that every stem and every fold of greenery is placed with care and intention.

".... the thought was just breathtaking. Everything was so personal and thoughtful. We have so much love for you; you made our day so special."

This same contemporary spirit was carried through to the groom’s buttonhole. A singular, elegant Calla Lily stood as a sculptural focal point, supported by the soft textures of a cymbidium orchid and Amaranthus, and backed with the deep, glossy green of Ivy leaves. It was a masterclass in modern masculine styling, refined, intentional, and perfectly in step with the day's wider vision.

We also believe in the "spare buttonhole" principle. Because a wedding day is filled with movement and celebratory hugs, we provided a delicately labelled spare for the groom. This ensured that if the groom gets hugged a lot, and Vish did! He was able to make sure his buttonhole was perfect for the memories to be treasured and every photograph remains as crisp as the first look.

THE SUSTAINABLE LEGACY

At Jacqui O, we believe that beauty should be as kind as it is breathtaking. As the sun set on the celebration, we returned the following morning to ensure the beauty lived on, transforming the large installations into bespoke bundles for guests to take home, a living piece of Gee and Vish’s story that continued to bloom in the homes of their loved ones long after the final dance. THE FINAL WORD

To be a part of such a cinematic day is a gift. To see a love that feels so modern yet so deeply rooted in heritage is exactly why we do what we do. Gee and Vish, thank you for letting us see the magic of your day through your eyes. It was, in every sense, an absolute honour.

Working with Georgina and Vish was a reminder of why I do what I do. It is about the interplay of scent, texture, and heritage. It is about grounding the magic in meticulous care.

"If you're unsure about investing in real flowers — do it. And do it with Jacqui. She won't just meet your vision; she will transform it into something even more beautiful than you imagined. She is, quite simply, exceptional."
