Your wedding day is a tapestry of fleeting moments and lifelong memories. As a bride or groom, you want every detail to be an authentic reflection of your love story. However, if you find yourself thinking, “I’ve never planned a wedding before, where do I even start?” you are not alone.
At Jacqui O, we believe that choosing your wedding flowers should be as joyful as the day itself. To help you navigate the blooming world of floral design, we’ve curated the top 12 questions every couple should ask. From sustainability to styling, consider this your expert guide to achieving a breathtaking floral aesthetic.

1. What happens during a bespoke design consultation?
Your journey begins with a complimentary consultation tailored to your lifestyle. We offer online design chats (perfect for sharing screens and mood boards while prioritising sustainability) or on-site venue consultations for a more tactile, personal touch.
We dive deep into your passions, your style, and your venue’s architecture. We review your wish list and align on a budget to ensure your vision is realised with precision and artistry.
Within seven days of our meeting, you’ll receive a personalised quote. A £500 booking fee reserves your date, at which point you become part of the Jacqui O family. We then move into the "Style Board" phase, where your vision begins its final countdown to reality.
2. How do my wedding date and seasonal availability affect my floral choices?
Nature is the ultimate director of the floral calendar. Certain blooms, like the highly coveted peony, have a short and glorious window (typically May), while global holidays, such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Christmas, increase worldwide demand and drive up costs.
The Seasonal Advantage: We always recommend a degree of flexibility to ensure you receive the highest quality stems at their natural peak. When flowers are in season, they are at their most vibrant, fragrant, and resilient.
Sourcing Out-of-Season: If your heart is set on a specific bloom that is out of season locally, we can often source it through our network of ethical global growers. While this may incur a premium, we also specialise in finding "scrumptious alternatives", exquisite blooms that offer the same aesthetic, texture, and luxury feel as your original choice, but with fewer air miles and a more sustainable footprint.

3. What if I don’t know the names of any flowers, and can you provide a sample?
You don’t need to be a botanist to have breathtaking wedding flowers! Most of our couples start with a colour palette or a particular "feeling." We recommend sharing inspirational images of flowers, bouquets and installations you love. As your floral experts, we translate those abstract ideas into a cohesive botanical design. You can also explore our Pictorial Guide. for inspiration.
Designing from Vision: We recommend sharing inspirational images of flowers, bouquets and installations you love. We look for the common threads in those images, the movement, the texture, and the tones to curate a bespoke floral story for you. You can also explore our Pictorial Guide for inspiration.
The Art of the Unique: Because every arrangement is a handcrafted work of art using seasonal, natural products, no two designs are ever identical. For this reason, we don't offer "mock-up" bouquets. Instead, we invite you to explore our Gallery and Instagram, where you can see the consistent, high-end quality of our signature style across a variety of seasons and venues.
4. How do I ensure my flowers match my unique vibe and venue?
The secret to a breathtaking wedding aesthetic is harmony. Your florals should act as an extension of the space, never competing with the architecture. Whether you are drawn to a style that is free and spontaneous or one that is curated and orderly, the most impactful designs are those rooted in personal meaning.
Design with Intent: Select blooms for a reason. Perhaps it’s the roses your fiancé always brings home, or the hydrangeas that remind you of your grandmother’s summer garden. We love "thinking outside the vase" to weave your hobbies and history into the arrangements.
Respect the Architecture: If you’ve chosen a sleek, modern venue, we lean into contemporary, structural floral art. For a rustic barn or a country estate, we might suggest an organic, "grown-in" look that feels wild and ethereal.

5. How can I repurpose my ceremony flowers to reduce waste?
Sustainability is the heartbeat of our studio. We specialise in "floral transitions", thoughtfully re-homing your ceremony designs so they continue to enchant your guests throughout the evening. By repurposing your blooms, you maximise your investment while significantly reducing your wedding's environmental footprint. Here are just two of our most popular transformations:
The Statement Arch: A floral arch used as your ceremony backdrop can be expertly moved to frame your top table during the wedding breakfast, or positioned as a magnificent, living photo booth for your evening guests.
Aisle Meadows to Tablecapes: Lush ground-level "meadow" arrangements that lined your aisle can be relocated to the front of the stage or the base of your cake table.
There are endless possibilities for creative reuse. During our consultation, we will map out your venue's flow to see how your bespoke scheme can work twice as hard to create a lasting impact.
6. What are your credentials as an industry expert?
With over 11 years of experience, Jacqui holds a degree in design, achieving a 1st Class honour and was trained in floristry at Reaseheath College. Our studio is recognised for excellence across the industry:
Good Florist Guide: Member (2022–2025) – the gold standard for quality and craftsmanship.
Sustainable Wedding Alliance: Accredited member committed to eco-conscious practices.
Award-Winning Artistry: RHS Chelsea Silver Medalist (2023) and RHS Tatton Park Gold Medalist.

7. Will I get to see my flowers before the wedding day?
Absolutely. Your flowers arrive at our studio approximately three days before your wedding to be nurtured and hydrated to peak perfection. On the day before your wedding, I will send you a "sneaky peek" video of your hand-picked blooms so you can share in the excitement as the vision comes to life.
8. When do you arrive to dress the venue and who handles the setup?
At Jacqui O, we believe the morning of your wedding should be spent in a "bridal bubble" of calm and excitement. We handle the entire logistical symphony with your venue and church coordinators to ensure a seamless transformation.
For All-In-One Venues: We coordinate directly with the venue staff to agree on an early installation window. We typically aim to have the ceremony and reception spaces fully dressed two hours before your guests arrive. While delivering your bridal party flowers, we’ll even offer you a digital "sneak peek" of the dressed venue, allowing you to see the finished look and request any final adjustments from the comfort of your dressing room.
For Church Services: Our approach is meticulously timed. We begin by setting up your reception venue, delivering your personal bridal flowers, and then moving to the church for the final installation. This allows us to be on hand to seamlessly transfer key floral elements from the church to your reception immediately after the service.
Our goal is to be invisible yet impactful (though admittedly, it’s hard to stay hidden when carrying a grand urn of delphiniums!). We handle the heavy lifting behind the scenes so that when you and your guests walk into the room, the only thing you experience is the breathtaking "wow" factor.

9. What happens to the flowers after the celebration?
The beauty doesn't have to end at midnight. We believe in a "graceful exit" for your blooms, ensuring they continue to bring joy long after the last dance. You have three sophisticated ways to extend the life of your arrangements:
Enjoy them: Take them home and surround yourself with nature's beauty....some of my clients say they are still going strong after the honeymoon, whilst others dry them to treasure!
Share the Love: Sending your guests home with a floral token is a gesture of pure elegance. From a simple armful of stems to our clever "hidden dish" centrepieces. .
The Gift of Community: If you prefer to donate your flowers, we can coordinate deliveries to local care homes in Nantwich, such as Richmond Village, Elm House, or Brookfields. Seeing the joy these blooms bring to residents and staff is truly heartwarming. Or, you could ask a friend or family member to distribute them to your favourite charity - just check with the charity first!
10. When is the best time to start planning and booking my wedding florals and do you offer packages?
It is truly never too early to begin your floral journey. As one of the most transformative elements of your wedding day, flowers set the mood, define the tone, and linger in your guests' memories long after the last petal has fallen.
Secure Your Date: For peak wedding season (May to September), we recommend approaching us 12–18 months in advance. As a boutique studio, we deliberately limit the number of commissions we accept each season. This ensures that every Jacqui O couple receives our absolute, undivided attention and the highest level of craftsmanship.
A Tailored Approach: We shy away from "standard packages" or off-the-shelf options. Whether you envision an intimate, minimalist celebration or a grand affair brimming with flowers in every corner, your design will be uniquely yours.
Short-Notice Celebrations: While we book up quickly, we occasionally have windows of availability for shorter lead times. If our schedule allows, we delight in bringing beautiful weddings to life on a more spontaneous timeline.
Whatever your preference, our dedication remains the same: creating a bespoke floral experience as individual and special as your own love story.
11. How much will my flowers cost, and how can I achieve my vision within a specific budget?
As a general guideline for a high-impact aesthetic, we recommend allocating approximately 20% of your overall wedding budget to your florals. Of course, every couple is unique; some may choose a minimalist touch, while others prioritise flowers as the heart and soul of their celebration.
The Investment Range: Our couples typically invest between £3,500 and £10,000 in their bespoke floral designs. Your initial proposal serves as a tailored guide, offering a clear estimate for the flowers of your dreams and our signature artisan services.
Precision in Every Petal: Transparency is the foundation of our partnership. I personally count every single stem and bunch of greenery required for your wedding. On average, a Jacqui O wedding features over 2,000 individual flowers and stems, each meticulously accounted for in your quote to provide total pricing accuracy.
Strategic Design: Being open about your budget from the start allows me to design strategically not to "max it out," but to ensure every penny creates an impact. We can explore "floral alchemy," such as prioritising high-impact installations, suggesting stunning seasonal alternatives, or incorporating fragrant luxury foliage to achieve the look you desire.
We keep your choices flexible, allowing you to finalise the finer details before your big day. For a deeper look at our tiers, please explore our Price Option Guide.

12. Why should I choose a Floral Designer over a high-street florist?
At Jacqui O, we do not aim to be the most affordable; we aim to be the best. When you book with us, you are investing in over a week of meticulous planning, sourcing, and artistry. From stripping thorns and hydrating blooms to the final post-wedding collection, we provide a premium, white-glove service. There are no second chances on a wedding day, we pride ourselves on getting it right every single time.
Here’s what’s included:
PLANNING & PREPARATION - Jacqui works closely with you to understand your vision and the inspiration behind your wedding flowers. Behind the scenes, we are making mental notes of many other details that make all the difference to a perfectly planned wedding.
ARTISAN SOURCING & PRODUCTION - High-end Wedding flowers are a premium product, and that comes with a cost, especially if you’ve chosen a specific variety or colour. At the height of the wedding season, the price of certain flowers, like white roses, can double or even triple. We take great care of your flowers days before your wedding to ensure they are fully hydrated and perfectly prepped. This process involves stripping all the leaves and thorns from the stems and placing them in clean buckets with water and solutions, ensuring the blooms open beautifully and are fully hydrated for your big day.
FLORAL ARTISTRY -Every bouquet, boutonniere, and installation is a handcrafted work of art. We spend countless hours ensuring every stem is cut and placed with precision to create a cohesive, breathtaking aesthetic.
SEAMLESS LOGISITICS & INSTALLATION - From misting delicate petals for transport to ensuring arrival at multiple locations, our setup is military in its precision. We ensure every arrangement is placed in the optimal climate and perfectly styled on-site.
POST WEDDING CARE & DISMANTLE - After your beautiful day, we return early to collect the vases, and hire kit and fulfill your wishes for your wedding flowers, from remaking them into gifts to donating them to a charity on your behalf. Once we return to the studio all the items are unloaded, cleaned and returned to storage for their next outing.
A floral designer has one chance to get your flowers right. There is no "delivery for tomorrow" in weddings—there is only your perfect day. As an experienced professional, I strive to delight you with a level of excellence that only a dedicated couturier can provide.
Ready to bring your floral vision to life? Whether you are planning an intimate gathering or an illustrious celebration, we would love to hear from you.

Such a well-written post and honestly one of the most underrated topics in entrepreneurship — trust isn't something you can manufacture overnight, it's built through consistent ethical behavior over time. The point about prioritizing integrity over short-term benefits is so important because so many early-stage entrepreneurs make the mistake of cutting corners for quick wins, not realizing that one unethical decision can permanently damage a reputation that took years to build. What really resonated is the idea of trusting your product and trusting yourself — because confidence is contagious, and if you genuinely believe in what you're building and stay true to your original vision, that energy naturally attracts the right partners and customers. For young entrepreneurs especially, understanding that…
I found the article really helpful because it answers the most common questions couples have about wedding flowers, from budgeting and seasonal availability to how florists plan designs that match the couple’s vision and venue style. It also explains how consultations work and how important it is to share inspiration early so everything feels personal and well planned . I remember during a creative planning task in my studies I felt overwhelmed by details and used online course help service just to organize my work better. That experience made me realize that clear guidance and structure can turn something stressful into something much more manageable and enjoyable.
