Where floral design and eco-friendly
meet for sustainable impact
SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

As an entrepreneur I often find I am challenged to consider our planet over profit, I call this Blooming responsibility. In 2017 I launched A ‘Bee friendly' collection for eco-conscious couples. At this time a small number of couples considered both visual impact and the floral carbon footprint when choosing their wedding flowers. Today even the more well travelled image conscious brides and grooms take a moment to reflect on their contribution to global warming when planning their special day. The pandemic of 2020 has taught us that local isn’t a compromise and the Best of British is right under our noses, which is fortunate as Bee Friendly British flowers smell so amazing. There is no compromise here!

HANDPICKED GROWERS

Over the last four years I have developed relationships with some of the UK’s artisan growers who never fail to deliver exquisite blooms full of character and are perfect for weddings from April until October which is my busy season.
Our favourite blooms come from Cheshire artisan growers who handpicks the flowers especially to my specifications. Occasionally we use our dedicated flower farmers in Lincolnshire and Cornwall to extend the season and range. When starting this journey I created a checklist to ensure my chosen partners measured up to our philosophy. My new suppliers had to have a plan for:
-
preserving our planet; flowers which are grown not flown, so have a reduced carbon footprint.
-
caring for nature; provided food and habitat to a huge variety of wildlife.
-
working with the season; the best quality in their natural growing season with wonky stems, left as nature intended these flowers aren’t straight up and down they have lovely curves creating natural movement.
-
reducing waste; the flowers do not come wrapped in single use plastic with elastic bands
-
growing something special: courageous growers inspired to develop unique artisan blooms delivered direct to the studio.
If you are an artisan grower who cares about the planet, then get in touch as our brides want your flowers.

‘We let nature and the growers pick the very best the season has to offer’
