Why did you become a floral designer ?
I was always creative as a child, I was often found sitting in a field sketching flowers and nature on the family farm in the Shropshire countryside. I was mesmerised by the beautiful blooms capturing their individuality through the season.
I followed my heart which led me to study design and then a career in visual merchandising. I finally replaced my pencils and sketchbook with flowers in 2013. I founded Jacqui O an original, bespoke floral brand, my true calling and I was surrounding myself with nature once again. As Claude Monet once said ‘I must have flowers, always, and always ‘.
Who are your typical clients?
I don’t have a typical client, I believe everyone should feel special and go after their definition of happiness. I want to inspire clients to be floral confidence and authentic and to celebrate their individuality, their choices and their unique personal style.
My clients appreciate beautiful quality blooms that evoke emotions for a special occasion. My approach is design-led and the aim is to create breathtaking florals that makes the client feel special by weaving their personality into the heart of their stylish floral creations.
What floral services do you offer?
I specialise in bespoke florals with a focus on weddings because I love weddings I really do! I started floristry classes as a hobby and then my lovely sister asked me to create her wedding flowers and the rest is history as they say.
I fell in love with helping others have beautiful flowers for their celebrations, whether thats a dinner party, event or wedding. I believe my clients floral journey should be just as memorable and pleasurable as their floral creations.
I also love to share my flower passion by sharing my knowledge with others by offer workshops and demonstrations to let individuals immerse themselves with seasonal fragrant flower and lush foliage.

Whats your favourite flower?
I love flowers before I became a floral designer I would of said Calla lilies and this is what I chose for my wedding but now I work in the industry I would say it depends on the season. Flowers create a positive emotional response in us all and I find they all make me smile but if they have a fragrance the world pauses and I am transported down memory lane. My latest find is a wonderful Cheshire artisan grower and I love the variety, quality and colours of her blooms each one with its unique quality. Ooo and not forgetting the lush foliages from Ireland, one of my favourites is eucalyptus the smell is divine and the fragrance fills the room.
What advice would you give to any client looking for inspiration for their floral designs?
Choosing florals is a very personal experience and each client should have beautiful fresh florals which reflect and celebrate their individuality and unique personal/corporate style.
Consider the style and mood you want to capture for your event. Is it modern, clean lines and elegant? or is it wild, natural blooms and enticing fragrant? Be open minded and if you are unsure ask for advice we are the experts at achieving exquisite florals.
Most importantly remember to go after your definition of happiness, weave your personality and interests into your stylish floral creations, if you love a flower and its in season ask for it to be included. If you are passionate about a hobby ask how can it be woven into your florals. Then you will truly create beautiful, sophisticated and bespoke florals and memories to treasure for a lifetime.
